The College was granted Autonomous status in 2008 and the semester system was introduced in July, 2009.
Examinations
Internal/ Continuous Assessment
Mid Semester examinations for 20%of the total marks in each paper of the subject at the Honours and Post Graduate levels are conducted at the end of three months of each semester Informative/Summative Assessment
End Semester Examination for 80%marks are held at the end of each semester.
The odd (1st, 3rd and 5th) semester examination for each year of the course are held in the month of December
The even (2nd, 4th & 6th) semester examination are held in the month of May
The end semester exam schedule shall be displayed on the college notice board by the examination department. It will also be available on the college website (www.jsrwomenscollege.ac.in)
The examination at the end of the particular semester shall be conducted only in the papers offered in the current semester i.e., at the end of the odd semester examination shall be held only for papers offered in the odd semester.
Similarly, at the end of an even semester, examination shall be held for the paper offered in the even semester.
Note Students who fail in any paper of the even semester may clear it only in the next even semester (eg. A student who fails in a paper of the first semester of 2011 can appear for the paper only in the first semester examination of 2012)
Admit Cards shall be issued by the examination cell on days notified before the commencement of the examination.
The examination cell may issue a duplicate admit card on payment of a fee decided by the college if it is satisfied that the admit card has been lost or misplaced.
REQUIREMENT FOR GRADUATION
A student shall be deemed to have completed the graduation if she has
- fulfilled the minimum requirements of the prescribed course of study
- passed in all subjects of the programme of study within a period of five years from the date of admission in the College
- satisfied all the rules of evaluation
- paid all the dues to the institute
- has no case of indiscipline pending against her
